Community
Furnace Brook Farm is a place defined by community: the neighbors that share the beautiful woodlands around the farm, the riders and their families who visit FBF each day, the staff who give careful attention and care to their work, the horse owners who board their horses with us and the horses themselves - a herd of delightful personalities.

Over the years, FBF has opened its gates to members of the wider community to come to the farm, meet the horses and experience equine life up close. Many folks have never had the chance to meet a horse. FBF is proud of its hospitality and hosts events each year for groups to visit.
Some of our community happenings include:
-
FBF Horse Show: In the spring, lesson students showcase their riding accomplishments at FBF's annual (open to the public) horse show.
-
Halloween Barn: In October, the farm is transformed and horses in costume greet local children who trick-or-treat while strolling through the barn.
-
Open Barn Days: This collaboration with the Marshfield town recreation department invites the local community to visit and to learn about horses.
-
Friends of Foster Care: Foster kids and their families come to FBF to enjoy a day of fun at the farm.
Furnace Brook Farm is continuing to expand outreach to schools, adult group homes and other community organizations.
